ExtractNow Hits 1 Million Downloads
July 18th, 2006
Today, ExtractNow has hit 1 million downloads on Download.com. I don’t know the exact time that ExtractNow has been on Download.com, but I estimate that it has been on for atleast 4-5 years and has finally hit 1 million. In the last 9 months on ExtractNow.com, ExtractNow has been downloaded 323,349 times. Amazing.

Hi,
I would like to know if ExtractNow is absolutely free when it is for commercial use?

What exactly are you using it for?

The description mentioned ExtractNow renames an extracted file, if there is only a single file in the archive.
Can ExtractNow rename files with duplicate filenames as they are extracted from a series of archives?
For example: 2 archives with a file named FILEX. Windows (I believe) will overwite FILEX (extracted from the first archive) or skip extracting FILEX (from the second archive). Appending a unique value (incrementing number) to the end of the file will allow for each extraction to occur. In the example I gave the result might be FILEX (from the first archive) and FILEX1 (from the second archive).
Thanks

Congratulations for this nice score. ExtractNow is really a nice software, and most importantly, is not bloated (yet
).
I miss one feature yet. I’d like to be able to specify filaname(s) on the command line, so that it can be called from other applications, in particular file managers.

I hope you can provide us a portable version of extractnow. No installation required and can be save to my USB.
